Kampala, Uganda, July 29, 2026 - National Unity Platform Buganda deputy president Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi resurfaced at Nateete Police Station after about 19 days of uncertainty, conflicting security accounts and a pending High Court habeas corpus application.

He was later taken under tight security to Butambala Chief Magistrate’s Court.

This detail was included in the mid-to-late July UGANDA briefing.

Party leaders said the appearance came as they pursued court orders to produce him, framing the episode as incommunicado detention ended only under legal pressure.
