Kampala, Uganda, July 28, 2026 - The Electoral Commission conducted residual Local Council I elections in 85 villages, continuing the nationwide grassroots polls scheduled after years without fresh village leadership contests.
The residual ballots cover places where voting could not be completed on the main LC1 date.

Officials have urged peaceful competition, noting that village rivals continue to live side by side after results are declared.
