BUJUMBURA, Burundi, July 28, 2026 - Burundian activist Pacifique Nininahazwe said wounded Wazalendo fighters and people suspected of belonging to the FDLR were being treated at private hospitals in Bujumbura, including Tanganyika Care Polyclinic.
Hospital contacts acknowledged treating many fighters but said there was no proof that all were FDLR members.
This detail was included in the mid-to-late July RWANDA briefing.
The allegations have not been independently established, and Burundian authorities had not publicly confirmed them.
