Bunia, July 24, 2026 - Prime Minister Judith Suminwa visited Ebola treatment and response sites in Rwampara and Mongbwalu, the epicentre of the country’s 17th Ebola outbreak, to show state support for patients, communities and front-line teams.
At Rwampara, she observed biosecurity procedures and patient care; authorities highlighted recoveries including a 15-month-old infant and mother, described as the first baby officially cured in the Bundibugyo-strain outbreak.
In Mongbwalu, responders listed shortages of electricity and drinking water, insecurity, continuing mining activity, community resistance and weak support for community relays.
Suminwa handed over 10 off-road vehicles to provincial response coordinator Prof.

Steve Ahuka and said partner financing now allows a focus on logistics, ambulances, oxygen and safe burial equipment.
