Kampala, Uganda, July 22, 2026 - Dfcu reported a pre-tax loss of about Shs26.3 billion for the first half of 2026, reversing a Shs39.7 billion pre-tax profit a year earlier, after operating expenses rose to about Shs230 billion from Shs150.4 billion.

Markets watched whether management would cut costs or rebuild fee and interest income in the second half.

This detail was included in the mid-to-late July UGANDA briefing.
