Uganda Exports Ebola Expertise to Eastern Congo
Kampala, Uganda, July 29, 2026 - State Minister for Health Charles Ayume said Uganda has moved from containing domestic outbreaks to exporting response capacity, with Ugandan doctors and health workers running two Ebola treatment centres in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He linked the deployment to lessons from repeated Ugandan outbreaks and said national protocols are increasingly referenced by international partners.
Officials present the assistance as both solidarity and self-defence while the virus circulates across the border.
