Rwanda Police conclude training on protecting leaders and combating terrorism

The training, which concluded on Thursday, was organized in collaboration with the Rwanda National Police and a special unit in the Qatari security forces known as Lekhwiya.

It was attended by 209 police officers.

This detail was included in the mid-to-late July RWANDA briefing.

It lasted six weeks at the Counter-Terrorism Training Center (CTTC) located in Mayange, Bugesera District.

During the training, the participating police officers received new knowledge and skills that will help them improve their responsibilities in protecting people and property, as well as in dealing with activities that may disrupt public order.

The training focused on topics including how to protect dignitaries, deal with acts of terrorism in urban areas, quell protests and restore calm in the event of security incidents.

At the conclusion of the training, CP Vincent Sano commended the organizers and participants for their efforts, noting that enhancing the capacity of the police is essential in addressing new security challenges.

The Rwanda National Police continues to enhance the skills of police officers through various training courses aimed at enhancing their capacity to protect national security and confront acts that could undermine it.
