Record 850-Tanker Fuel Convoy Enters Bamako as Hydrocarbon Pressure Eases
Bamako, Mali, July 31, 2026 - A record convoy of 850 fuel tankers entered Bamako around 06:00 under FAMa escort, as commerce authorities said large regular convoys were stabilising district supply and enabling a gradual return to normal deliveries inland.
Bamako, Mali, July 31, 2026 - A record convoy of 850 fuel tankers entered Bamako around 06:00 under FAMa escort, as commerce authorities said large regular convoys were stabilising district supply and enabling a gradual return to normal deliveries inland.
Between July 20 and 26, more than 69 million litres of petroleum products were received, Industry and Commerce Minister Moussa Alassane Diallo told the state-petroleum sector coordination forum.
Operators’ representatives claimed most acute Bamako shortages were resolved and urged extension of reliable service to the interior, with urgent measures planned for Koutiala and Bandiagara and work on a national regulation stock.
