President Kagame sends message to Ghanaian counterpart

This message from President Kagame, Francis Gatare, was delivered to Julius Debrah, Director General of the Office of the President of Ghana, on 25 July 2026.

The Rwandan Embassy in Ghana announced that during the talks, Gatare briefed Julius Debrah on the activities of the school of governance in Kigali, where it has made progress in promoting research and education in the field of governance.

Gatare was accompanied by the Rwandan Ambassador to Ghana, Rosemary Mbabazi, who participated in the talks that focused on the relationship between the two countries and the ongoing expansion of cooperation between Rwanda and Ghana.

During their discussions, they also discussed the African School of Governance’s partnership with the Accra Reset initiative, as well as how Rwanda and Ghana can continue to work together to promote cooperation and integration in Africa.

Accra Reset is an initiative that aims to bring together leaders, scholars, investors and other stakeholders to discuss how Africa can rethink its development and find new solutions to the challenges facing the continent.

It is a forum based on ideas for reforming governance, economics, technology and cooperation between African countries, with the aim of promoting solutions that come from within Africa rather than relying heavily on aid or solutions from outside it.

The African School of Governance is a school that aims to contribute to building future leaders through education, research and the provision of knowledge in the fields of public policy and governance.

Francis Gatare's visit to Ghana comes as the two countries continue to develop relations and cooperation in various fields, with the aim of maintaining a partnership that benefits their peoples and the African continent as a whole.
