Mali Reaffirms Strategic Partnership with Russia During Russia Day Celebration

Bamako, June 15, 2026 - Mali reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with the Russian Federation during a reception in Bamako marking Russia Day, highlighting the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.

Representing the Malian government, Minister of Malians Abroad and African Integration Mossa Ag Attaher attended the ceremony, where he was welcomed by Igor Gromyko, Russia's Ambassador to Mali.

During the event, the minister conveyed congratulations from Mali's transitional president, Gen. Assimi Goïta, and the Malian people to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people, extending wishes for peace, prosperity, and continued progress.

The ceremony also served as an opportunity for Mali to underscore the strength of its longstanding friendship and cooperation with Russia. Officials highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to deepen bilateral exchanges and expand strategic partnerships across areas of mutual interest.
