NEW YORK, May 5-8, 2026 - Mali has reiterated its commitment to international cooperation on migration during the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF), held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The country was represented by the Minister for Malians Living Abroad and African Integration, Mossa Ag Attaher, who participated in high-level discussions assessing the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.

The forum, which brings together UN member states and international partners, serves as a platform for evaluating progress and strengthening cooperation on global migration governance through structured dialogue.

Mali, among 152 signatory countries to the Global Compact, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a more humane, coordinated, and effective approach to migration management.

During his address, the Malian minister outlined national priorities in migration governance, highlighting ongoing initiatives and presenting future policy directions aimed at improving the management and protection of migrants.

The participation reflects Mali’s continued engagement in multilateral frameworks addressing migration challenges at the global level.
