Kinshasa, July 30, 2026 - Moïse Katumbi intervened to calm an internal dispute inside Ensemble pour la République after public speculation over differences between cabinet director and spokesperson Olivier Kamitatu and senator Salomon Idi Kalonda.
In a joint statement dated July 29, Kamitatu and Kalonda said they had spoken at length at Katumbi’s request and that misunderstandings between them had been resolved.

This detail was included in the mid-to-late July DRC briefing.
Party militants had worried that the reported rift could weaken opposition cohesion at a sensitive moment.
The joint communiqué sought to project restored unity around Katumbi’s leadership.
